10 Lot looked around and saw that the Jordan Valley was fertile and there was water everywhere. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) It was as beautiful as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, all the way down to Zoar. 11 So Lot chose the Jordan Valley for himself, and he moved his tents to the east. Thus, they separated from each other. 12 Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan and Lot dwelt in the cities of the valley and pitched his tents near Sodom.
